The challenge
My Hibachi's restaurant website gave search engines little structured information about the business, its location and its common questions, so it was not eligible for rich results.
The approach
I implemented custom schema markup in JSON-LD:
- BreadcrumbList for the page hierarchy
- FAQPage for the questions customers ask before booking
- LocalBusiness for the business details and service area
- Organization for the brand entity
The result
The structured data passed Google's Rich Results Test with four valid items (Breadcrumbs, FAQ, Local business and Organization). The site became eligible for rich snippets, which supports click-through rate and local SEO.
